One of the pitfalls of using computers is that you invariably leave a trail as to where you’ve gone on the internet. We’ve all hide sites in mind that we did not visit for one reason or another. At work, site are sometimes blocked, but in other instances, we don’t feel comfortable surfing to sits that are clearly not used for work. By the same token, there may be research we want to do or sites we want to visit that we don’t necessarily need the whole household knowing about. Fortunately, there are a couple of ways to delete your internet footprints so that you can go where you’d like without everyone knowing your business.
1.) Clearing Your Recent History- If you visit your tools menu, you will see an option to clear recent history. Click on this and you will see options to select areas of deletion. Make sure the boxes for Browsing & Download History, Form & Search History, Cookies, Cache, and Active Log ins, are all checked. This allows you to effectively delete all recording of areas you just visited on the net.
2.) Start Private Browsing- Under that same tools menu, you will see the option to Start Private Browsing. By utilizing private browsing, you can surf the internet in realitive ananimoty, save for the footprint your IP Address leaves behind. This isn’t a concern however unless you are planning illegal activities. If you’re just trying to cover your tracks, this is a great way to do it.
Covering your tracks while on the internet is not an unreasonable request. The same way you close the shower curtain in order to bathe, there is no good reason for others to know your internet business assuming you are at least 18. Utilize these simple steps to private browsing today.
